The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will officially issue Access Codes to all political parties on June 26, 2026, to enable them upload the details of candidates who emerged victorious from the recently concluded party primaries.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, made the disclosure during a crucial meeting with the national leadership of political parties held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Prof. Amupitan expressed deep concern over the rising wave of intra-party litigations, describing them as a major distraction to the commission’s ongoing preparations for the 2027 general elections.

He cautioned party leaders to uphold the provisions of the Electoral Act and their respective party constitutions, stressing that the success and credibility of the 2027 polls will largely depend on stakeholders’ commitment to internal democracy and due process.

The INEC Chairman urged political parties to resolve their internal disputes amicably and avoid actions that could lead to prolonged legal battles capable of disrupting the electoral timeline.

He assured parties that once the Access Codes are issued on June 26, clear guidelines on the upload process and deadlines will be communicated to ensure a smooth and transparent exercise.
