A prominent Islamic cleric and social media personality, Sheikh Usman Kusfa Rigi-rigi, has died.
The scholar, widely known for his unique, humorous, and unconventional style of delivering Islamic teachings often blending Hausa proverbs, everyday life examples, and light-hearted storytelling passed away after a brief illness.
Sheikh Kusfa Rigi-rigi gained massive popularity across northern Nigeria and the Hausa-speaking diaspora through his short, relatable video sermons on WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. His lessons on prayer, morality, marriage, family life, and community harmony were delivered in a simple, entertaining manner that resonated deeply with youth and ordinary worshippers.
Tributes have poured in from across the Muslim community, fellow scholars, politicians, and fans who described him as “a teacher who made Islam accessible and enjoyable.”
