A fire outbreak occurred on Thursday at a multi-storey building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
Videos circulating on social media showed thick, dark smoke billowing from the building as residents, business operators, and onlookers gathered at the scene.

Emergency responders, including firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Emergency Services, were quickly deployed to the area and were seen making frantic efforts to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as investigations are still ongoing.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Fire Service, or the Lagos State Government regarding the incident.
No casualties have been confirmed so far.
Efforts to obtain comments from Polaris Bank and relevant authorities are still ongoing.
