The Africa leadership concern group, a continental policy think-tank, has weighed into the lack of transparency of the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and called for the resignation of its Chairman and all the Resident Electoral Commissioners who have to refuse to release the results of the Presidential Poll in their respective state after 72 hours of conducting the 2023 Presidential election.

In a statement by the Country Director, Dr Nengak Pam, NENGAK PAM, the group expressed its concern over the compromise of the INEC Chairman and the Resident Electoral Commissioners that have blatantly refused to release the results of the 25th February 2023 Presidential election in their respective. states

The group is worried about the reputation and integrity of INEC and the electioneering process in Nigeria over what is perceived as INEC working to ensure the victory of the ruling party in the last conducted presidential election in the country.

The group is also concerned this will affect the reputation of Nigeria in the committee of Nations across Africa and the world.

We, therefore, call on INEC as a matter of National Importance to immediately respect the wish of the people and immediately release the results of the Presidential poll across all the States.
