Nigerian Army to Hold Chief of Army Staff (COAS) 1st Quarter Conference 2024

The Nigerian Army is set to hold its The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) First Quarter Conference 2024 at the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess, Asokoro, Abuja from Monday April 15 to April 19, 2024.

According to a statement by the Army Spokesperson, Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, he highlights that the COAS conference is a significant event for the Nigerian Army because it provides a crucial opportunity for the leadership to review the Army’s operations, training, and overall performance in fulfilling its constitutional duties.

He also noted that the conferences is a veritable platform to evaluate past strategies, identifying areas of strategies that evokes fine tuning, and setting new agenda for the future.

“It will equally enable the Nigerian Army to make projections for the Second Quarter of the year, as well as holistically review the Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency operations and Internal Security operations across the country, in which the Nigerian Army has been relentlessly involved.

Furthermore, conference attendees will have the opportunity to gain insight into the policy thrust and new transformational agenda of Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, for a combat-ready Nigerian Army.

“The conference will also witness presentation of briefs on NA Training, Operations, Administration, Logistics and other Nigerian Army events, as captured in its 2024 Forecast of Events.

“During the conference, far-reaching decisions to shore up the efficiency of the service would also be taken into consideration.

“Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters, Corps, Formations, and Field Commanders, Commandants of NA Schools and Tri-Service Institutions, as well as selected NA Officers serving in key deployments are expected to be in attendance”, Nwachukwu stated.

Overall, this kind of transparency and communication by the current leadership of the Nigerian Army can help align the officers and men towards common goals and drive positive change and progress.
