A video of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the man at the centre of the alleged ₦1.3 billion “ghost agency” scandal, has resurfaced online as the controversy continues to generate public debate.

In the video, recorded during a press conference in late June 2026, Adeyemi defended his claim to the leadership of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) while challenging the Presidency’s position that the agency does not exist.

Adeyemi questioned how an agency described as non-existent could feature in official budget documents.
“The national budget does not emerge in isolation. It passes through multiple layers of technical drafting, executive coordination, ministerial inputs, Budget Office review, and finally legislative scrutiny by both chambers of the National Assembly,” he said.

He argued that the inclusion of the agency in the 2026 Appropriation Act raised serious questions about the integrity of the budget process.

Adeyemi also claimed that the agency maintained several accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, including a domiciliary account, a pounds sterling account, and a Treasury Single Account.
“The same acclaimed non-existent agency has a domiciliary account, a pounds sterling account and a Treasury Single Account, all domiciled in the Central Bank of Nigeria,” he stated.

He further alleged that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, demanded 48 per cent of the agency’s proposed ₦27.4 billion take-off grant.

The Presidency has consistently denied all the allegations, maintaining that the PFIPC has no legal backing and was never established by the Federal Government.

Authorities allege that Adeyemi forged official documents, including appointment letters, and operated from an office in the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja.

The controversy intensified after reports showed that an entity similar to the PFIPC was allocated over ₦1.3 billion in the 2026 budget — approximately ₦803 million for personnel, ₦200 million for overhead, and ₦300 million for capital expenditure.

Adeyemi is currently facing an eight-count charge bordering on forgery, impersonation, false personation, and operating a fictitious government agency before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 27, 2026.

The matter remains before the court as public scrutiny over the alleged ghost agency continues.

The Presidency has urged Nigerians to disregard Adeyemi’s claims, while he insists the court will vindicate him.
